There are many variable or reasons why millions of couples around the world are incapable of conceiving a child. Therefore it is not only essential but vital that you consume enough water throughout the day to ensure proper functioning of all vital organs. And this includes the testicles which are responsible for the production of healthy motile sperm. Cause: Lackof Vitamins Prevention: I'msure that most of you will not dispute the fact that majority of the people eat what they like and not necessarily what is good for them. As such, our bodies are not replenished with essential vitamins and mineral which are needed by our bodies. For example vitamin C is necessary for the production of healthy sperm, while vitamin E is essential to improve motility of sperm. I would recommend that you try to modify you diet to included a healthy portion of fruits and veggies to balance out the burger and fries (my diet). At the very least buy a good multi-vitamin which includes both vitamin C and E. Cause: Smoking and Alcohol Prevention: Countless studies have been conducted by many universities over the years and all of them conclude that smoking has an adverse affect on production of sperm.So, my contemporary wisdom tells me to tell you to "stop smoking", however, I know from experience this is easier said than done. I was a smoker and it took me nearly 4 years of on and off attempts to finally kick the habit.When my wife and I were trying to conceive I cut the smoking to nearly half of daily intake. When it comes to alcohol moderation is the key despite the fact that countless unwanted pregnancies are the result of over consumption of alcohol. Cause: Lack of Ejaculation Prevention:Researchers have reported that the first load of male ejaculate especially if it's been a while has much lower sperm motility than recurrent male ejaculate.Therefore, sex in form, be it with your spouse or masturbation is good for maintaining healthy motile sperm. Cause: TesticleTemperature Prevention:The most amazing thing about nature is its ability to change and adapt. For example if you think about it every organ is internalized to the body with the exception of the testes. The reason for this is simple, cooler temperature is required to produce and maintain healthy motile sperm. There are those who believe and there is evidence to support their belief that men should avoid hot tubs, saunas and stream rooms to maintain or increase their sperm count or sperm volume. While I agree with the logic, I do not believe that such activities should be avoided altogether as they offer many other health benefits.Of course those benefits will be covered in other articles, but to give you an example, spending time in the sauna is known to lower blood pressure and increase metabolism. Perhaps minimizing the time spent or the frequency is more appropriate than avoiding those wonderful relaxing activities all together. Last but not least try to sleep at least 8 hours per night. A good night sleep will not only do wonders for your sperm motility but all aspects of your life including your sex life; which will inevitably do wonders if you are trying to conceive. Treatment for Low Motility There are no magical drugs or potions that directly increase sperm motility.
